The newest motherboards now finally added a USB 3.1 Gen 2 connector but most cases don’t support it. I will show you how to add your own!

While the USB 3.1 Gen 2 standard can apply to the older USB A standard, the future standard that this spec is built on is USB Type C. The motherboard I used in this build which is the ASRock X470 Taichi.  It does have two Gen 2 ports on the rear I/O. One USB A and one USB C.

Using a cheapish cable from Amazon, I was able to add the new USB 3.1 Gen 2 standard to my older Cooler Master HAF XB EVO Case. With a little ingenuity, it can be done on any case. Please see the parts used below so you can do it yourself!
